Technical Lead Engineering

Job Description
The position is located in Engineering of the Autonomous Solutions Division ASD. The Technical Lead for Engineering manages engineering execution of automotive projects of high complexity. Works on projects starting from the POC definition phase to the Start of Production and supports the hand-over to Maintenance. Plans/manages projects directly related to customer delivery while following Intel processes.


Leads the technical project team and is key interface to the project, internal/external contributors and customer. Identifies and refines project objectives. Develops solutions to problems by exercising judgment and discretion. Determines dependencies and identifies and assigns specific resources in agreement with the Engineering management, and communicates expectation to team members. Creates/tracks/adjusts the project or program schedule and provides regular status updates. Assesses risks and identifies issues and solutions to timely and efficiently achieve program goals or project objectives while maintaining quality standards. Influences or sets business or cross-organizational strategy. Understands the technical concepts, architecture, systems, development methods, and disciplines associated with the defined projects, applies the knowledge to deliverables and leverages it to accelerate project completion. The role will involve various tech elements like SOC design, platform development, machine learning, software development, embedded security, 5g etc.

You don't need to be expert in all of these but you need to have basic knowledge and have strong desire to learn, understand and willingness to get your hands dirty and solve day to day technical issues for customers. Responsibilities Manage technical execution and customer enablement for automotive hardware and platform design of ECU's Lead team of technical engineers from PE's to developers across multiple disciplines of hardware, software, communications etc. Define and Drive production architecture design Answers technical escalations by either directly solving and or working with experts at engineering level to trouble shoot, solve and provide appropriate solutions Be technical liaison to product management teams and program teams to drive requirements/roadmaps/timelines Act as single point of contact for all technical issues for customers.


Drive enablement schedule and related activities and make sure we hit deliverables ahead of schedule. Provide executive management updates to customers and Intel management Be and grow technical knowledge across SOC, hardware platform, software, machine learning and other up and coming technologies Manage and be responsible for overall success of technical customer enablement to hit their production timelines Partner with biz development, sales and marketing teams and be their advisor

Qualifications


  • Must have a minimum of 4 years development experience of Electronic Control Unit ECU for automotive projects and a minimum of 2 years Tech experience leading customer enablement team.
  • Must have knowledge of Intel SOC/processor arch, BSP, drivers.Must have strong background, knowledge of software architecture, design practices
  • Must have ability to understand SW/HW customer requirements and customer milestones in automotive environment, match them with ASD engineering planning and create a customer delivery plan
  • Must have ability to identify risks & issues and to coordinate technical teams to achieve resolution and delivery of projects to customer
  • Must have Ability to manage conflicts and negotiate with customer, 3rd party and internal stakeholders Need experience in delivering complex projects at product quality in automotive environment.
  • Understands the processes/integration and qualification procedures of an OEM and a Tier1

Technical background:

  • RTOS experience Linux, , QNX, GHS/Hypervisor, Embedded SW development background and programming techniques.
  • Presentation tools, development tools Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
  • Must have the ability to operate under intense time pressure.
  • Availability to travel in Europe and outside Europe as needed to visit customer and other Intel development sites.

Desired additional skills:

  • Deep knowledge of hardware, software IP blocks in processor design is a strong plus Nice to have understanding of SW & HW interaction and Autonomous Driving AD projects and experience in delivery of complex projects Good development background will be preferred Automotive experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of DOORS and DOORS Next Gen DNG preferred. ISO26262 Functional Safety experience preferred.
  • Understanding of automotive Security concepts secure boot, key storage, and executionProject management tools, Automotive SPICE , Agile planning, SW/HW quality concepts, Requirement Management
