Senior PMIC/Envelope Tracking System Integration and Verification Engineer (f or m)

Job Description

Highly integrated Power Management Unit (PMU/PMIC) components are widely used in our world-class cellular communication units. They take care about power provisioning to different electrical sub units of today's smartphone, tablet, wearable and IoT products (application processor, modem transceivers and RF power amplifier). 

You will be working for a PMU development team consisting of bright engineers, living the “can do” spirit, taking care of macro and system level verification for integrated power ASICs. You will work in close cooperation with the System Engineering, Design and Production Test teams at Intel worldwide.

We are looking for a passionate mixed signal and / or RF signal expert with strong know how on analog performance verification and functional test, also being capable to develop test cases in software to support automated macro level chipset verification and regression testing.


Your responsibilities will include: 

  • System level and component level bring-up and post silicon verification of RF subsystems for cellular applications 3G, LTE with key focus on Envelop Tracking (high frequency DCDC converter) solutions for RF frontend power amplifier Conducting tests about  system efficiency, linearity, EVM and spectral measurements, assuring that quality requirements of product / customer targets are met
  • RF calibration verification and compliance tracking against 3GPP system standard
  • Analysis, Design and implementation of test case software in Matlab script language and other script languages, making use of provided control toolboxes and automation framework
  • Analysis of and root causes identification of PMIC and Envelop Tracking (ET) issues, delivering ideas of possible work around and bug fixing solutions
  • Definition of system and design verification requirements for PMICs  and its test casesExecution of test cases on PMU / ET / PMIC DUTs to check chip performance against specification characteristicsPreparation, documentation and presentation of measurement results to the PMU team, designers, application engineering and platform teamsReview of printed circuit board (PCB) schematics and layouts for component verification evaluation boards

Voraussetzungen

Qualifications

  • University master degree in electrical engineering, information technology or physics required
  • At least 6 years work experience on component verification, debugging and analysis of analogue / mixed signal blocks, especially utilizing RF circuitry
  • At least 3 years work experience in software development of measurement automation, implementation of automated tests
  • Expert skills on mixed signal and RF analog circuitry are mandatory. You should have worked on high speed and high bandwidth DCDC buck converters, Envelop Trackers, power amplifier or other power regulating circuits
  • Hands on experience with mixed signal and RF lab measurement equipment (mixed signal digital oscilloscope, current sinks,  power amplifier, RF spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators)  is needed
  • RF co-existence and co-running test & validation know how with other wireless systems is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of 3GPP standard 2G/3G/4G is an asset
  • Know how on digital control logics (state machines, test logic, register access, digital interfaces) is required
  • Programming skills in ANSI C / C++ or Matlab script language and test automation experience desired
  • Knowledge about high speed serial channel protocols (USIF, SPI, I2C, IIS, RFFE, MIPI) is a plus
  • Work experience on multilayer printed circuit board (pcb) schematic entry and layout design for high speed / high power circuitry is an asset
  • Strong analytical thinking capabilities required
  • Taking ownership and responsibility is needed
  • Independent and autonomous work style is expected
  • Good in process oriented thinking and acting
  • Good communication skills to internal / external parties
  • Fluent English speaking is a must
