For the German headquarter based in Munich, we are looking for a



Key Responsibilities


  • Leading the category management for Starbucks Germany, which consists of the following categories: Beverages (Coffee, Tea, Refresher, Mixed), Food (Bakery, Packaged Food, Sandwich, Bottled Beverages), Merchandising (Tumbler, Mugs), “Ready-for-home” products. 
  • Growing above mentioned categories for the German business, a.) with key focus on managing, analyzing and driving sales and margins (80%), and b.) creating a (promotional) food strategy and sourcing new food items (20%)
  • Analyzing performance and profitability of individual categories on ongoing basis to ensure consistent and profitable growth of topline sales. 
  • Developing ideal product ranges and optimized category selection to drive customer satisfaction.
  • Forecasting and leading ordering process for promotional items, in close sync with Supply Chain & Operations.
  • Developing and driving food calendar to ensure alignment with brand strategy, brand goals and ensuring complimentary fit with our regular coffee-driven promotions.
  • Leading category decisions on pricing, packaging and merchandising.
  • Optimizing and maintaining display standards to ensure best-in-class execution in-store. 
  • Developing input for sales materials for new product launches.
  • Benchmarking best practices and SBX performance against key competition.
  • Tracking of key KPIs (i.e. Sales, Costs of Sales, Net Margin, Portfolio Sales Mix)
  • Develop and establish effective internal and external processes with key stakeholders.
  • Close collaboration with AmRest and Starbucks EMEA Headquarters, as well as with external suppliers.
  • Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing Germany, with dotted reporting line to Starbucks Category Lead CEE.

Voraussetzungen

Required Experience and Skills


  • 4-7 years of relevant work experience in category management roles within the FMCG world (ideally: food industry, B2C)
  • Mind-Set - Strong analytical and strategic thinker, with senior experience in data analysis, forecasting methods and experienced in building and executing strategy on category management level
  • Management - Being able to lead complex projects with advanced project management skills, managing in cross-functional, international set-ups
  • Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Sales and Marketing – Several years of experience working in close collaboration with FMCG / food marketing departments in previous roles
  • Consumer Focus -  In-depth awareness and knowledge of food-relevant consumer & market trends
  • Communication - Excellent skills in German and English (written and verbal) are essential due to high degree of collaboration with international colleagues
