Job Description
Study on possible tunable filter methods in modern cellular communications.
DESCRIPTION:
Modern standards of communication pose challenges like wider signal bandwidth, larger dynamic range of the radio frequency RF signal, and stringent requirements on the throughput under real-world operation conditions.
New standards of mobile communications LTE, LTE advanced and 5G are using many different RF bands simultaneously to allocate the required bandwidth for the increasing data rates. With that, the need for power efficient tunable receiver filters is rising. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate potential tunable filter concepts to be deployed in modems of new generation. The work includes study of the state-of-the-art tunable filter techniques, modeling and simulation of the filters in Matlab followed by the analysis of the overall system performance when using the selected tunable filter.
