The License Management Officer has the operational responsibility for the availability and implementation of software licences at the operational platforms and reports both to the GSOp ILS/CADM Manager for aggregating the data as well as to the Maintenance Manager for what concerns the implementation monitoring on the operational assets.
This includes in particular
- Collecting licence information from Segment/Product manufacturer provided documentation
- Translating the licence maintenance needs into a preventive maintenance plan based on the inventory/deployed assets
- Coordinating with ILS Support Desk the in time upload/update into the Service Desk Tools/CMAT tool from which individual maintenance tickets are created
- Maintaining the licence budget files at SPO Level, supported by centralised tools (CMAT)
- Identifying potential risks and shortcomings related to the licence file deployments and needed follow-up tasks
- Acting as escalation instance for ILS Support Desk, managing escalations to SPO subcontractors related to overdue preventive maintenance tasks
- Identifying and triggering necessary licence procurement needs and maintaining status information in centralised tools
- Supporting SPO procurement department in the procurement and negotiation process of related licences
- Providing reporting to SPO and GSA management via centralised tools (i.e. monthly/ quarterly reporting inputs)
- Participating to meetings related to licence management (GSOp internal and external with GSA/ESA/Segments)
- Participating/follow-up potential anomaly reports related to licence issues
- Ensuring correct recording and reporting of licence maintenance tasks and status via the centralised tools by means of regular follow-up and reviews
- Liaising with L2/L3 Maintenance team on licence data/needs as preparatory tasks in the frame of new Ground Infrastructure Releases
