Do you think this could be you? To pursue our ambitious growth, we are looking for a Business Development Manager - Buying (m/f). In this position, you will be responsible for sourcing of Private Label furniture products for all Westwing markets and building our Eastern European or Asian supply base. The rapidly growing Private Label team is responsible for the entire value chain, ranging from global sourcing, supply chain management and logistics, campaign and sales management, to collection and brand building. It is one of the main growth pillars for the Westwing Group (a “startup within a startup”).


Your responsibilities will be:

  • Work on furniture category strategy and product assortment, together with the Category Manager and the Managing Director
  • Hunt for great suppliers in Eastern Europe or Asia
  • Negotiate products, quality and prices in our core furniture categories
  • Take personal responsibility for relationship building and commercial development of selected suppliers
  • Conduct ongoing and seasonal analyses to assess product performance against targets and plan future buying needs
  • Coordinate with visual merchandising and campaign teams whenever relevant to ensure high-quality online presentation & maximize sales

Voraussetzungen

You come with:

  • 1-4 years of experience in Buying, Business Development, Sales or a related function, preferably but not necessarily with direct factory / furniture sourcing experience
  • Strong analytical mind, excellent communication skills, hands-on mentality
  • Either great level of experience or ability to quickly develop a thorough understanding for the worlds of e-commerce and home & living, as well as furniture products
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Fluency in English, additional language skills are a plus (especially German, Eastern European languages or Mandarin)

Location: Munich, project related travel required
